Who are we?
We are a league of people who want to be active participants in the stewardship of our environment. Crows and other corvids are some of the most intelligent animals we have ever discovered, and they work hard to keep our ecosystems working. They have been observed doing many unique things that suggest a high level of intelligence, such as:
- Solving problems
- Communicating complex ideas with humans and other crows
- Using tools
- Remembering people’s faces
- Working collaboratively

Why redheads?
This project started with one redhead’s dream to foster a friendship with crows and community with other redheads. Many redheads exprerience bullying during their life. Since crows have been observed to remember faces, the founder had the idea to form a coalition of redheads across their habitat working to teach crows that redheads can be pretty cool. One day it would be nice to show that all humans can be good stewards of their environment and friendly to the animals in it, but that’s a little too ambitious for us at this time, so we’re just starting with redheads.
- Crows won’t call you carrot top.
- Crows won’t say you don’t have a soul.
- Crows won’t say that every freckle you have is a soul that you stole from someone else.
- Crows won’t say ask if the carpet matches the drapes.
- They might even bring you gifts! Unlike some people…

What if I want to participate, but my hair isn’t red?
We members of the league support anyone who wants to befriend some corvids. We offer free information on our website about how to make friends with crows, and our friendship kits are available to anyone. There are many other ways to participate, too.
- Learn more about your local ecosystem.
- Encourage others to become responsible stewards of the environment.
- Tell your redheaded friends across the world about the league of redheads feeding crows.
